D.A Pandu RV dental medical college and hospital, popularly known as RV dental college, is one of the finest dental colleges in the city. Established in 1992, the college is under the aegis of Rashtriya Shikshan Samiti trust, Bangalore which was established in the year 1940.
This takes us back to the same year of 1940 when the foundation stone of the college was laid. Sri M.C Shivanada Sharma, a man who believes that every individual who comes to this society has a right to be educated and fulfil his aspirations irrespective of the caste he belongs to or family he comes from. So to fulfil his dream, he established a primary school with only 6 students in this city which we know as Bangalore today. To make people aware of this fact he approached several philanthropists and merchants and with their donations and support he started building RV institutions.
Rv dental medical college is located in a posh area of the city of Bangalore and has spacious buildings and is equipped with the state of the art equipment to treat dental and oral problems. The college offers a bachelor’s degree in dental surgery where the students are required to go through a study period of 5 years including one year of compulsory rotatory internship. The college not only provides education to the children but also caters to the needs of society by providing various facilities to society.
The college has been the first to have a mobile dental van in the city of Bangalore. Adding to this, the college has always grabbed the opportunity to be distinctly ahead in the field of Community Dental Health Programme in rural areas.
The college has always aimed to excel in all its activities and to create an atmosphere of involved learning where students inculcate the spirit of discussion and inquiry which will ultimately help them to induce healthy sustainable accomplishments. This will ensure that they are enriching the quality of both a student as well as a future professional doctor.
This thinking of the college has made them emerge as a conglomerate of world-class academic institutions, where everyone’s growing and developing together thereby spreading global happiness, peace and harmony.
The college has been a part of various community dental healthcare programmes in rural and urban areas to give exposure to children to work in the rural setup of the country so that in the later future they do not face any problem working in the rural environment and they understand the needs of the poor and needy people. This helps the students to inculcate the feeling of humanitarian and sympathy towards the weaker section of the society
