N.K. Jabshetty Ayurvedic Medical College & Post Graduate Centre, Bidar is a world-class centre for Ayurvedic Medical Education and Research. It was founded by Sri Chidambara Shikshana Samsthe and led by Param Poojya Sri Sri Shiva Kumar Swamiji of Sri Siddharudh Math, with the goal of providing professional education and enriching students. This institute aims to provide effective health care for the suffering people of this region, and to spread the Indian System of Medicine- Ayurveda with the motto "Health for All."
On September 19, 1991, the Honorable Speaker of the Lok Sabha, Sri Shivraj Patil, inaugurated the institution.
The BAMS Undergraduate Program started in 1991-92 with a large number of students.In the academic year 2000-2001, the institute established the Post Graduation programme, i.e., MD/MS in Ayurveda. The postgraduate programme began with two specialisations: MD in Rachana Sharir (Anatomy) and MS in Shalya Tantra (Surgery). This programme, which began with only 5 students in each department, is now fully equipped with all facilities and resources for students from all over the nation. With new specialities introduced in recent years, this school now has 30 seats accessible for P.G. courses.
