Established in 1984-85 JSS Medical College, Mysuru, has been imparting education in medical sciences (MBBS) courses and other Undergraduate and Postgraduate education in medical sciences for the last four decades. JSS Medical College is located at Sri Shivarathreeshwara Nagara, Mysuru, Karnataka, India on a lush green campus of 43 acres. The college was affiliated to the University of Mysore from 1984 to 1995 and later to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Mysore till 2008. The college aims at imparting excellent quality medical education which in turn would help to improve the health sector and cater to the needs of people from all strata of the society.

Since this is a medical college there is no provision for placing the students in the formal sense and the college does not have placement cell-like colleges of other disciplines. The students after completion of their MBBS degree can practice as general practitioners provided they are registered under a State government. The students can work as junior doctors in medical colleges and after passing out they can work as medical consultants, doctors with various hospitals, and private clinics. They can also work as private practitioners as well. The student’s diploma courses will have employment opportunities in Hospitals, Nursing Homes, Rehabilitation Centers, private clinics, as well as freelancing. There are various spas, gymnasiums, health centers coming up in big cities and towns run by prominent hotel chains which provide ample job opportunities for professionals trained in physiotherapy. In this field, professionals can earn anywhere between 4lakhs to 12 lakhs per year depending upon the location and organization. The average nurse, physiotherapist, or medical equipment handler is expected to earn around 6lakhs per annum. After sufficient years of experience, the yearly earnings of an individual can go as high as 12-14 lakhs per year.
FACULTY
To provide quality education to the students, the college has a very experienced and well-skilled faculty. All of the professors are Post Graduates in their fields, with more than half of them holding Doctorate degrees. There are also well-qualified staff nurses and non-teaching staff members to allocate the students in their learning process.
EXAMS
All admissions are conducted on the basis of marks obtained in NEET conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education. For admission to PG courses, the students need to appear for NEET(PG) and obtain the relevant cutoff marks.
