Established in 1988, BVVS college of Ayurveda offers an undergraduate degree to students wanting to make a career in Ayurveda. The college is situated in the northern part of the Indian state of Karnataka known as Bagalkot that has a beautiful and splendid cultural heritage. Bvvs college of Ayurveda was established Under the aegis of Shri Basaveshwar VeeraShaiva VidyaVardhaka Sangha that came into existence on Karthika Shuddha Pratipada. The main aim of this sangha was to promote and provide education to the people.
The university is affiliated with the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Health and Science that is approved by the Government of Karnataka and is recognised by the Central Council of Indian medicines and the ministry of Ayush. The College provides many facilities to the students like hostels, transportation, a central library and many more. The main objective of the college is to impart professional and academic excellence to the students in the field of Ayurveda, to develop effective communication skills that will help them to not only become a great doctor but also a leader who is able to inculcate the importance of Ayurveda to the future generations of the country.
The intake capacity of the college as of now is 60 students per year and it is working towards beginning the postgraduate courses for the college.
BVVS college of Ayurveda is one of its kind when it comes to education. The teachers of the college are exceptional and well qualified. Adding to this the college not only focuses on educating children through books but also cares about how children develop as an individual, for this the college regularly establishes medical camps in the nearby villages as well as in the college to create social awareness. This step of the college not only benefits the children to become more socially aware of their profession but also helps them to gain more confidence and become self-reliant. Besides organising medical camps, the college also provides various other camps like a yoga camp for diabetes, a summer camp for children, a blood-donation camp, an NSS camp and many more.
The college has well-experienced teachers in almost all departments of the college who always motivates the students to give importance not only to the academic stuff but also to the various co-curricular activities as well which will ultimately help in the overall development of the child.

Talking about the institute’s faculty, the teachers of the college are exceptional and provide quality education to the students. They try to make their classes interactive and have a friendly approach towards the kids. All the teachers of the institute are well supported and understanding towards the children and are always ready to help them whenever they require any assistance. They motivate the children to not only focus on their academic areas but also on co-curricular activities as well which stimulates the overall development of the child. All the teachers are well experienced, having around 7 to 8 years of experience in both the teaching industry and the medical profession at the same time. All the teachers at the college believe that they do not teach the students, they do self-study with them. In addition to this, they teach the student that it is not the bookish knowledge that helps them to succeed in life but some moral values like patience, trust and self-reliance is the key to motivation. In short, they should have faith and confidence in their teacher and they should fight for gaining knowledge since everything can’t be spoon fed to them
