Established by Ananda Social and Educational Trust, the Dr. B.R.Ambedkar Medical College (RMC) is affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Karnataka, and recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI) with the vision of providing quality education to all, maintain and set new standards in medical education and train doctors to be compassionate and focus on patient-centered healthcare. Equipped with the latest infrastructure, technology-enabled classrooms, and advanced laboratories the college primarily focuses on teaching, clinical practice, and research to train the next generation of doctors.
The College offers MBBS, MD, and MS courses in all specialties. The college also offers courses in Physiotherapy and Allied Health Sciences. The college ranks among the top medical colleges of India at present in 2021. The college curriculum focuses on making doctors with a strong, comprehensive foundation of medical knowledge. The students undergo a rigorous academic schedule with a balanced focus on extracurricular activities. The students are provided an opportunity to provide quality patient care without compromising medical excellence.

How is Education at Dr. B.R.Ambedkar Medical College, Bangalore?

Dr. B.R.Ambedkar Medical College's faculty and administration strive to provide students with value-based education. The pupils are taught to be socially conscious and responsible persons who may help to alter society. By emphasizing learning by doing, the curriculum aims to teach kids about health, development, human values, compassion, sympathy, sincerity, and honesty. Lectures, tutorials, and practical internships at the Hospital are used to teach the courses to students.

PLACEMENT

Because this is a medical institution, there is no formal mechanism for students to be placed, and the college does not have placement cells like other colleges. After completing their MBBS degree, students can work as general practitioners if they are registered with the state government. Students can work as junior doctors at medical schools and then as medical consultants, doctors in various hospitals, and private clinics following graduation. They can also work as independent practitioners.
Students pursuing BPT and Allied Health Science degrees, on the other hand, will find work in hospitals, nursing homes, rehabilitation centers, private clinics, and as freelancers. Spas, gyms, and health facilities run by major hotel chains are springing up all over the country, providing plenty of career prospects for physiotherapists. Professionals in this sector might make anywhere from 4 lakhs to 12 lakhs per year, depending on the region and company. Nurses, physiotherapists, and medical equipment handlers are estimated to earn roughly 6 lakhs per year on average. The students also get the option of being employed as house staff under respective departments of the college. The students also get one and half years of internship after completing four years of study where they get a stipend of Rs 40,000 on average

FACULTY

The college has very experienced and highly qualified faculties to impart quality education to the students. All the faculties are Post Graduates in their respective professions and more than half of them hold Doctorate degrees.

EXAMS

All admissions are based on the results of the Central Board of Secondary Education's NEET examination. Students must take the All India PG Entrance Test and meet the applicable cutoff marks to be admitted to PG courses.
