Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) is a four years undergraduate degree course for students who have passed their 10+2 or equivalent examination in the science stream. The degree is recognized by the Medical Council of India and the field of study is aimed at helping patients who have a partial or full disability of movement and patients recovering from injury to skeletal structure or soft tissues.
Physiotherapy is a process of carrying out treatment without the use of any drugs and only through the use of heat, electricity, mechanical forces, and mechanical pressure. The course involves six months of mandatory internship. The practitioners are required to have a good understanding of the human anatomy and the inter-working of bones, muscles, and nerves.

REQUISITES

1. Required Education

Entrance examination at the state or national level like IPU CET, BCECE, VEE.
Candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination in Science stream with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as compulsory subjects and 50% aggregate marks.
English proficiency.
Must be 17 years of age at the time of admission.

Program Details

Bachelor of Physiotherapy is a four-year course recognized by the Medical Council of Education where the students are taught topics related to manual therapy, exercises, and applications of electro – a physical model of treatment to treat skeletal and soft tissue damage. The course also involves a mandatory six-month-long internship and admission is provided on the basis of state level or national level entrance examinations. The course fees can range anywhere from 1lakh to 5 lakh depending upon the individual college.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

1. Minimum of 50% aggregate marks in 10+2 or equivalent examination in the Science stream having Physics, Chemistry and Biology as compulsory subjects
2. Must qualify in the entrance examinations conducted at state and national levels.
3. Must have completed 17 years of age at the time of admission.
4. Must be proficient in English.
